Daily Summary:

Rest day!  We slept in, had a big breakfast, did laundry and played.  The boys found a babyfoot game, a pool table, and the swimming pool to occupy most of their time.  Our outing was to the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center.  All the pioneer trails (the Oregon, California, Mormon, Bozeman, Bridger, and Pony Express) came through Casper before branching out in various directions.  The Interpretive Center was very well done, and of even more interest to us since we have just done most of the Oregon Trail.  It was especially interesting to see the pioneers complaining of the vast desolation, the wind, and the heat, just as we have been doing.  At least we are doing it at 20 miles per hour instead of 20 miles per day!

Below you see that Raymond has found his new calling:  Pony Express Rider.  The ad says “Wanted  tough skinny wiry fellows not over eighteen”.  Also a picture of one of the antelopes that plays on the range here.  We saw him on our walk back to the hotel.

Rest day!!
