We could not get on the internet last night, so sorry that yesterday’s update was incomplete. Please check it again.
We got up today to pouring rain. After jumping Teresa’s car to get it started and sending Lily off on her drive back to Kalamazoo, we got on the road by 7. It rained hard and not so hard until noon. Teresa was on the back seat of the triple, and Christopher was on a single bike. Both had great days cycling, despite the wet weather. Christopher set a personal record for distance by riding 67 miles to the second SAG stop today. He did take a small tumble at one point, so has some road rash like the real cyclist that he is. Teresa road her first century today. But she didn’t stop there—the total was 115 miles. We spent 8 hours and 45 minutes on the road today, but two hours of that was stopped time at our various breaks. It was fun for Raymond and I to have a guest rider on the bike—new stories to tell, new things to talk about.
In the pictures below you see some wet riders at the second SAG stop. Then, Teresa celebrates her first century with an ice cream. We had to get back on and ride 15 more! |
